DIY Party Crowns

Bring in the new year with pipe cleaner crowns! This was Holly's awesome idea. We were inspired by this image. We are going to show you how to make these simple, yet fabulous, pipe cleaner crowns. All you need is gold or silver pipe cleaners & scissors. 

We made both silver and gold crowns. We are going to show you how to make a 3 point crown. 

To make a 3 point crown you need 5 1/2 pipe cleaners. Twist 2 together in a circle, measuring your head, to make the base of the crown. Then twist 1/2 to 1 pipe cleaner, for tallest center point. Fold the other 2 pipe cleaners in 1/2.

Fold the base of each point as shown below & then twist onto the base of the crown.

You can also make other versions with more points as pictured below.

DIY Photo Booth Props

Sarah makes these super cute mustache and lip photo booth props. We are excited to share her tutorial with you. A photo booth to bring in the new year maybe?

Supplies

Felt

Skewers

Scissors

Hot Glue Gun

Metallic Sharpie

Mustache Stencil

Step One: Take your mustache stencil and trace with a metallic sharpie on black felt. Trace it twice for one mustache prop. Then cut both mustaches out. Lay them on top one another sharpie side facing in. Make sure they match. If not trim until they do match. 

Step Two: Cut the sharp tip of your skewer off.

Step Three: Use a hot glue gun to glue the 2 mustaches together. Glue the right half first making sure the 2 pieces are lined up. Then lay the pointed side of the skewer (that you cut) in between the 2 mustache layers, but off to the left side, as pictured below. 

Find or make a photo booth backdrop and take some fun photos!

Holiday Flea

I was excited to find out about a month ago that Columbus Flea was having a Holiday Flea this year. Columbus Flea is usually only four times a year, once each season. So it was great to go and do some Christmas shopping at my favorite flea.

I approached Nikki about having a Wandern Vintage booth at the winter flea. So I'll let you know if it happens. Holiday Flea is a great way to support the Mid-Ohio Foodbank & local creatives. Nikki gave me a Flea bag for future collaborations we may have as Columbus Creatives.

Tigertree Gift Wrapping Workshop

I was super excited when I received an e-mail from Tigertree, earlier this week, announcing that they were hosting a free gift wrapping workshop. All you had to do was bring along your gifts to wrap. 

Our workshop began with a gift wrapping tutorial. You may think you know how to wrap a gift (I know I did), but I still learned a few tricks, especially how to make it look pretty.

 Wrapping paper, twine, feathers, bells, gift tags and cocktails were all included.

 Cindy came along with me to wrap gifts. I think she is a natural at gift wrapping.
